Hudson-Odoi scores as Chelsea star’s impressive comeback continues

first_imgEmbed from Getty Images Callum Hudson-Odoi continued his impressive return from injury with a goal and an assist as he completed 75 minutes of his second game back for Chelsea’s development side.England winger Hudson-Odoi looked sharp throughout following an Achilles injury, while Reece James – who has been out with an ankle problem – also starred in the Under-23s’ 2-0 win away at Southampton.Hudson-Odoi poked home the opener after the break, running through on goal and his corner was crossed back in for Clinton Mola to head number two.AdChoices广告Both Hudson-Odoi and James were replaced with 15 minutes remaining but had looked lively and strong throughout.James teed up Chelsea’s first decent chance just before the half-hour mark, sending in a fine cross which Charlie Brown turned wide. And with the Blues now on top Hudson-Odoi, who signed a new five-year contract this week, started to take centre stage going close on three occasions before the break. The 18-year-old had a fierce strike tipped over, sent a curling effort wide of the far post and then shot wide again when he should have done better from Brown’s cross.Chelsea continued to create the better opportunities after the interval and soon after a James header hit the bar, Hudson-Odoi found the net thanks to a cool finish as he ran through and beat keeper Harry Lewis following a Billy Gilmour pass. Both Hudson-Odoi and James were involved in the second goal, the former’s corner finding the latter, whose delightful dinked cross was headed in by Mola at the far post.Earlier on Saturday, Chelsea’s Under-18s continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-1 win at home to Reading.Dion Rankine opened the scoring just after the half hour, slotting home after being set up by Joe Haigh.Reading’s Josh Hewitt hit the post for the visitors, but George Nunn’s goal midway through the second half doubled Chelsea’s lead.Charlie Wiggett volleyed the ball across goal and Nunn nodded home from close range.Pedro Neves pulled a goal back for Reading with a cracking strike but the young Blues took the points. Director of Sport rejects falsehoods

first_imgDear Editor,It is never my intention to discuss these issues in the public domain, unfortunately, the issue was placed in the public domain and therefore I must defend my good character.I note an article appearing in the May 9, 2017, under the headline ‘National Sports Commission Director allegedly pays assistant M for doing nothing’. I wish to unequivocally state that this article is based on falsehoods and I reject any assertion or allegation of improper conduct on my part as Director of Sport. At all times I have executed my duties with the highest level of integrity and within the law. Further, I have forged strong relationships between the National Sports Commission (NSC) and all national and other sporting bodies as I have worked assiduously to raise the profile of sports in Guyana. Mine is a tireless and thankless task but one which I pursue with enthusiasm, zeal and a passion for the sector. From my interactions with the various sporting organisations I have every reason to believe that I enjoy a high level of confidence and trust from the entire sporting fraternity. This has been achieved even as I have operated under severe internal constraints and with limited resources – the details of which I do not wish to disclose at this time. Nonetheless, my work in sports is on public record as is my achievements and performance in the sector.I have every reason to believe that this article is part of a naked attack on my person, character and integrity which is politically motivated. Further, it is my view that the intellectual authors of this attack are steeped in envy of the achievements of the NSC and the consequent positive public attention which has followed. I do not believe that it is any coincidence that this attack has come mere weeks after the successful and critically acclaimed NSC Sports Awards at which the medallists of Guyana’s CARIFTA Team were awarded University of Guyana scholarships by the NSC.I am pleased to have read that an investigation is being conducted. I commit my full and unreserved cooperation with same as I am confident that I and my team at the NSC will be completely vindicated.Further, I call for an independent investigation in uncovering the intellectual authors of the article and that those culpable have appropriate action taken against them by the relevant authorities.Sincerely,Christopher JonesDirector of Sportlast_img read more

Universal and Loews host similar activities and more under the “Loews Love Kids” program.Universal hotels offer movie nights of popular Universal and non-Universal movies by the pool area (yes, expect lots of Minions). Check the hotel lobby for movie titles and times. Games and sports equipment are available to borrow from the front desk areas and all the hotels have an arcade with modern video games.
