first_imgMan Utd prepared to sack Mourinho over Christmas programmeby Chris Beattie10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveManchester United are prepared to sack Jose Mourinho over the Christmas programme if results nosedive. The Daily Mail says the manner of United’s capitulation at Liverpool on Sunday has left Mourinho under huge pressure again following the club’s worst start to a top-flight season in 28 years.United face Cardiff, Huddersfield, Bournemouth and Newcastle over Christmas – four winnable games that could also be a potential banana skin for the 55-year-old.Mourinho has appeared to be in trouble before this season and survived, but he is now odds-on to become the next Premier League boss to be axed. It’s understood that United would have to pay Mourinho one year’s salary of £18million to get rid of him, and up to £22.5m if he is still in the Champions League or in contention for a top-four place. He wants to stay for the duration of that contract and maybe even longer.”Mesut is 100 per cent committed to Arsenal Football Club. He loves the club, shares its values and does not want to be anywhere else.”He is proud to wear the shirt and honoured to represent Arsenal on and off the pitch. first_imgAbout the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Chelsea boss Lampard delighted with supersub Pulisic: I know his qualityby Paul Vegasa day agoSend to a friendShare the loveChelsea boss Frank Lampard was delighted with Christian Pulisic for his cameo in victory at Champions League opponents Ajax.Pulisic showed supreme skill to find space down the wing and deliver a cross to fellow substitute Michy Batshuayi, who rectified an earlier miss by converting from close range for the only goal of the game.Lampard said, “You have to give Christian huge credit because he looked so lively when he came on and the assist is just as important as the finish. The fact that a substitute scored makes me so happy because it’s not easy when you’re picking a similar team every week.”I’ve tried to shut my ears to a lot of the outside talk because there’s a lot said. I understand his quality, his young age and the fact it’s a big move for him. He wants to know what I want from him, what the Premier League is like and that’s not always an easy ride but we’ve stayed calm and kept looking at the big picture.” last_img read more

(Photo by Jonathan Bachman/Getty Images)There’s still nearly half-a-year before the start of the 2019 season, but the injuries have been mounting fast for the Texas Longhorns. This past week of practice saw two more defensive players sidelined for the foreseeable future.According to Burnt Orange Nation, defensive back B.J. Foster is now out indefinitely with a concussion. Safety Cade Sterns underwent knee surgery for patellar tendinitis and is now out six to eight weeks.Breaking: Texas coach Tom Herman tells me and @kbohls at Austin Country Club that S Caden Sterns had a procedure this morning to take care of patellar tendinitis and will be out 6-8 weeks.Horns now have both safeties (Brandon Jones) out for the spring.— Trenton Daeschner (@TrentDaeschner) March 26, 2019Foster had 43 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception in his freshman season with the Longhorns. Sterns had 62 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, a sack, and four interceptions en route to the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year award. The team is already slated to be without senior safety Brandon Jones, who is expected to miss just about all of Spring practices as he recovers from ankle surgery. The injuries leave the Texas secondary increasingly thin as far as experienced players go.On the bright side, the extended absences for the three players could see some of the team’s freshmen get increased reps in the Spring and Summer.Texas secured several four-star players for the secondary in the Class of 2019, but they are not among the group of players that have enrolled early. The healthy guys in the defensive backfield will get plenty of looks this spring.[Burnt Orange Nation]last_img read more
